| "Buy
Nothing Day," or "Black Friday," came and went, and it worked out
great! This year in our country, we saw people on TV beat and rob each other into the ground to get the newest video games (we cheered...and cried). The day after Thanksgiving, we fan out and try our best to disrupt the shopping orgy. "Why kill the xmas shopping?" you might ask. "Do you freaks hate Santa, or sompin?" No, Santa is a friend of ours, it's just that Christmas has become a pointless landfill bonanza, a waste of resourses, a corporate boon...in short, a monkey on the back of the American economy. This time, we recorded a few songs, dumpstered empty cd cases and Free Geeked some paper, begged duplication from friends and gave out free presents in the form of the "Buy Nothing Day" album. Bizzy and Sprout went downtown with a stack of them, and Will Workforf Ood took the NE sector. We didn't have time to do much more than a small stack, so we tried to make them copy-able to go as far as we could. If you want one, download the songs and art here. |
